Toilet that runs, hisses, or keeps refilling — fixed in one visit.

That hiss after every flush is water — and money — going down the drain. It's almost always a flapper or fill valve, and we fix it on the spot.

What you're seeing
Sound familiar?
- Hissing or trickling from the tank long after a flush
- The toilet refills by itself every few minutes (a "phantom flush")
- You have to jiggle the handle to make it stop
- A water bill that jumped with no other explanation
What's actually going on
Inside the tank there are two parts that matter: the flapper, which seals the tank until you flush, and the fill valve, which refills it and shuts off. Flappers go soft and stop sealing — that's the phantom flush. Fill valves wear and stop shutting off — that's the hiss. Hard water and chlorine both speed it up. A running toilet can quietly waste hundreds of gallons a month, which is why we treat it as worth fixing today.
The visit
What we do — and it's usually one trip
We come out, look at the actual problem, and give you a flat-rate price on the spot. If you approve, we fix it right then — the truck carries the parts this job needs.
Diagnose which part is failing — flapper, fill valve, flush valve seat, or the handle linkage — rather than guessing
Replace the worn parts with quality components, not the bargain-bin kit
Set the water level and test several flushes until the tank fills and stops cleanly
Check the supply line and the shutoff behind the toilet, since they're the same age
When it's more than a small repair
If the tank is cracked, the flush valve seat is corroded beyond a new flapper, or it's an early low-flow model that never flushed well, we'll tell you plainly — and give you a flat price for a new toilet alongside the repair price so you can decide. Nobody here sells a toilet to someone who needs a flapper.
If something's not right after we leave, we come back and make it right — no charge, no argument. That's the Loon Promise.
Good to know
Running toilet questions, answered straight
Can I just replace the flapper myself?
You can, and if that fixes it, great. When it doesn't — because the seat is pitted or the fill valve is the real culprit — that's when to call. We'll diagnose it properly in one visit instead of a third trip to the hardware store.
Why does my toilet run for a few seconds every so often, even at night?
That's the phantom flush: the flapper is letting water seep into the bowl until the fill valve tops the tank back up. It's the single most common toilet complaint, and a proper flapper (matched to the flush valve) ends it.
Is a running toilet an emergency?
Not a burst-pipe emergency, but it isn't harmless either — it's wasted water every hour it runs. Most of the time we can get to it the same day you call.
