A fridge line leaking behind a cabinet is the leak nobody sees until the floor buckles. We install these small lines the careful way.

What you're seeing

Sound familiar?

  • A new refrigerator with an ice maker or water dispenser and no line to feed it
  • A dishwasher that needs to be connected, or one that's been leaking at the hookup
  • A plastic fridge line that's yellowed, brittle, or kinked behind the appliance
  • A dishwasher that fills with dirty water when the sink drains

What's actually going on

Appliance lines are small, out of sight, and usually installed by whoever delivered the appliance. Thin plastic tubing gets brittle and splits; a saddle valve (the clamp-on kind) is a known leak point and isn't allowed by most codes anymore; and a dishwasher drain without a high loop or air gap lets sink water siphon back into the machine. None of these are dramatic until the day they are.

The visit

What we do — and it's usually one trip

We come out, look at the actual problem, and give you a flat-rate price on the spot. If you approve, we fix it right then — the truck carries the parts this job needs.

  1. Run a proper braided stainless or copper supply line from a real shutoff, not a saddle valve

  2. Install a dedicated, accessible shutoff so you can turn the appliance off without shutting the house down

  3. Connect the dishwasher supply and drain with a high loop (or air gap where required) so it can't siphon

  4. Pressure-test every connection, run the appliance through a cycle, and check dry before we leave

When it's more than a small repair

If your kitchen doesn't have a nearby water line to tap into, running one is a slightly bigger job — we'll look at the route and quote it flat, in writing, before anything is opened. And if an existing line has already been leaking, we'll point out any flooring or cabinet damage so you can address it, even though that part isn't plumbing.

If something's not right after we leave, we come back and make it right — no charge, no argument. That's the Loon Promise.

Good to know

Dishwasher & fridge water lines questions, answered straight

The delivery crew wouldn't hook up my fridge water line. Why?

Most delivery teams aren't allowed to connect to your plumbing, and the saddle valve that used to be standard is no longer accepted by code. It's a fifteen-minute job for a plumber done properly — with a real shutoff you can reach.

Can you replace the plastic line that came with my fridge?

Please let us. Braided stainless is the right material behind an appliance you don't move for years — it doesn't get brittle, and it doesn't split at 2 a.m.

Do you install the appliance too?

We handle the plumbing side — supply, shutoff, and drain connections — and we'll slide the dishwasher in and secure it as part of the hookup. Electrical and cabinetry are separate trades, and we'll tell you if something there needs attention.
